Sounds like a book doesn't it.

Well, I've been keeping a PND diary so I can see if any patterns emerge and to encourage me when I'm having a bad day so that I can see not every day is a bad day. Last night, I jotted down that I felt ok, and notices that I'd had 10 "OK" days in a row! This is a first for me since Ella was born - and she's 13 months! It might not seem like much to anyone else, but this feels like a massive milestone for me.

I've been doing a lot of thinking recently (yes, they were my brain cogs you could hear) about the future and whether I could go through another pregnancy etc etc, and one of my biggest fears has been the pnd still having a hold of me and the risk that it could happen again with a 2nd child. I just feel today that I'm getting somewhere, and even if something happens in the rest of today to send me plummeting, I've still had 10 good days!

I know I'm not out of the woods yet and I know that bad days will happen, but for now - it just feels huge.

Hurrah!

PS - the frustrated mood is nothing to do with this... I'm frustrated at DH - whole new story there!

Fantastic news Dizie, . I still keep mine and read over some of the early stuff the other day. Reduced me to tears to see how bad my thoughts were. It really helps when you have a good day though.

Aww Dizie that is great news! I know from my experience of depression in general that 10 good days in nothing short of a major breakthrough. Good on you.

that is brilliant news and i think that keeping a diary about how you feel will help you a lot so that means that you dont keep everything to yourself

hope all your days will be good days for you

Well, we got to 15! With only 1 wobbly day, but it was only a bit wobbly, and so I said OK overall.. And then today has been lovely, but now I'm feeling all crappy again..

But its one day. I know it is in the scheme of things. I've had a fun few days, met Greedy on thursday, then Sam and Ols came to stay - and then whamo - back to earth with a thump. When I was first diagnosed with PND, I filled my weeks to make sure that I was busy and so had things to take my mind off how I was feeling. And I guess thats what the last week has been about. Not that I regret busying myself, I don't. I just feel like I've gone splat again.

I know its temp, and I knew it would happen soon enough and I know I'll bounce back... but the reasonable side of my head is asleep at the moment.

Anyway, am waffling now... will go to bed, have a nice sleep and dream of my little girls smile...

Awww Dizie, thats exactly how I felt when I had chris up the first time, I think I hit earth with a bit more than a thump!  Keep the smile on your face and you will pass to another better day!
