I really feel for my DD, although she does make it difficult at the moment by only wanting to drink fresh orange juice or "pink" milk.

She's been complaining frequently of pain when weeing so I been to the docs three times or so for urine tests. All have come back clear, though one locum said there was an unusually high number of white blood cells (those which "eat" infection causing organisms) but there was no infection detected.

She's not quite potty trained yet at 3 and a half. She's only done one poo in the potty in a year and that was more luck as I sat her on it one evening just in time. My mum suggested that it could be that what she drinks is too acidic & I have tried watering the orange juice down as you do with a young child but generally she just doesn't drink more than a mouthful.

On the potty training front she's not bad with wees at nursery, for her grandma & she's getting better at going for me. I feel bad as a mum that she's not yet potty trained but I'm also beginning to wonder if there's some sort of complication.

My middle daughter was a nightmare to potty train.  She used to complain of it hurting to wee too but after lots of urine tests just like you nothing was ever found.  I do wonder if it was just the sensation of going for or needing a wee that she found unpleasant more than painful and expressed it as sore.  Fran still wet herself up until she was 11 at night.  There didn't seem to be any reason other than her bladder and nerve endings took much longer to develop than other childrens.  She is 15 now and still has urgency when needing a wee, one minute she won't need the next she has to run to the loo.  They can't find anything physically wrong with her or an infection.  Not really got any advice as such I wouldn't have thought it is what she is drinking do it though.  The body has a way of sorting out acidic and alkaline products that we put into it.
