Good Morning All.
For the last 3 weeks I've been treating a scaly horrible lesion thing under my left breast with some anti-fungal cream the pharmacist recommended. We decided I'd got ringworm so that was best thing to do....
Over the last 10 days or so I've been getting more and more of these oval red itchy things all over my body. Its on my back, my tummy and my upper arms, I got to the point where I was losing count of which ones I'd put cream on and which I hadn't!
This week its got loads worse, the patches are innumerable and the cream is not helping at all. The original patch is now about 4cm across and looks really red and angry.
So I made an appointment at the GP's and saw her a little while ago.
Its NOT ringworm, which is a relief cos otherwise why hasn't it gone.
It's something called pityriasis rosea.
Yeah I'd never heard of it too. Apparently caused by some virus, there is absolutely nothing I can do about it apart from apply lots of aqueous cream and wait for it to go away on its own.
Guess I won't need a costume for halloween tonight
Am looking on the bright side though. Dh still thinks I'm gorgeous (bless him) and now he has the job of smothering my body in cream every night for the next few weeks, it can take upto 3 months to resolve.
The itching is bearable unless I'm hot so I'm rather pleased with the outcome, I've not let him touch me incase it was contagious and now he can!
Rather enjoying the thought of being pampered, my rash is now my new best friend! I've even got a couple on my breasts so tonight could be interesting .
Anyone else ever had this at all? Apparently only affects between 10 and 35 year olds so I'm just in the right age group.
