I've completed my first yoga class and survived.

Yayyyyyyyy to me!!

It was last Thursday and I was so nervous. I have a major hang-up with my body even though my partner is always trying to reassure me that I have nothing to worry about.  Anyway, I found out there's a class every Thursday from 5pm-6pm.  Fortunately I went with a lady I knew who was very kind and held my hand as well as supplying me with yoga mat and blanket.

I need not have worried as the class was small with 5 'mature' ladies and the trainer was very gentle with me.  She must have been at least 65 so I felt like I had nothing to complain about-lololol

I managed the stretching exercises no problem.  I managed the breathing no problem.  But could I 'hold in' my pelvic floor muscles and abdominal muscles in the same time? Noooooo.

So this Thursday that is my mission.  And I've committed myself to going to the sessions by going out and buying a mat.

Felt guilty about the timing though as I'll get home at 6:45pm and the boys go to bed at 7:30pm but after a discussion with mum I've come round.  She'll pick them up, feed and bath 'em round at mine so I can get home and have that time to cuddle and read to them.

So here's to doing something positive for myself.  Here's to a brand new body!

Good for you !!!! Us mums need to have something that is just for us.

Glad you enjoyed yourself and good luck. I used to go to a Tai-chi class while preg with Adam and then hubs bought me a book about it so I do it on my own 3-4 times a week. It's soooooo relaxing.

Thing is I've still got tonnes off 'naughty' food left over from Christmas.  So although I feel good for exercising I come home and gorge on chocolates.  Now that counters out all the exercise, eh?

Anyone for a Quality Street?

(Please anyone I'm feelingnow!

Go get your quality streets and chuck them away, quick!

You'll feel tonnes better for it.

I've bought rosemary Connolly/colleen Nolan's exercise dvd, put it on today and sat comfy on the sofa to watch it.

Kind of the wrong idea I know, just trying to memorise the steps before i attempt it myself

Oh i'd love to do something like this, swimming or aqua arobics.... but i've got to wait till after my injections for spd start and for my mri to take place so i know if i'm allowed.....

If not i'll probably buy the dirty dancing dvd and just sing along tapping my feet.

Nice one....cant believe you cant do your pelvic floor and abdominal at the same time!!!! You shouldve spent more time in the swimming pool miladay...heres one for ya...try breathing from your diaphragm bit before you fill your lungs up and youll find yoga even easier....its the bit by your belly lol.

Youll do fine chica
