I have up until the end of last week been taking 20mg of morphine 4 times a day.

The gp has now put me on 2 x 50mg of Tramadol 4 time a day. I am also taking daily tinzaparin injections.

I have been feeling really off colour, sickly and rather odd, which I suppose is proberbly due to the change of medication!?

I was wondering if any of the above would affect the effectiveness of my merina coil.  Nobody has mentioned my contraception at all throughout all of my treatment and tbh, I've never given it a second though until df mentioned it last night, so I though I'd better check and see if anyone knows.

You should be fine. I have been on all sorts and had the coil and the pill and gp never said anything, even when she was prescribing pill at same time as painkillers.

The only worry would be the side effects from the painkillers. If they make you sick or give you the runs (sorry) then you need to be careful.

Give your gp a quick call but i think you should be fine hun, otherwise i would have rather a lot of little Edwards running about.

Good luck hun, hope you recover soon
