I know all I seem to do lately is go on about the different things I have tried, sorry in advance for another moan.
I am taking yet another new contraceptive pill. It is meant to be the lowest levels of hormone. Ive been taking it for 10 days now I think, maybe 11, and I have had niggly pain but it has been kept at bay with the painkillers so all is good in that department. However now I seem to be on a huge emotional rollercoaster. One minute im really high, uncontrollably giddy and happy the next Im sat face stinging with tears.
I think today has been the hardest day so far. One minute I was feeling mega low and isolated and didnt want to join in with the games on the beach. then I was so giddy they couldnt keep up with me running round playing. This afternoon I have found myself sat here crying for no reason, then feeling great. There seems to be no trigger. One minute ago I was fine and dandy reading the jokes forum laughing then this awful feeling just washed over me and I have tears stinging my face.
I hate feeling like this. When I was on the high dosage pill it caused me to have severe highs and lows, to the point when I was low I wanted to die, and when I was high I wanted to jump off something very high to see if I could fly. As soon as I came off them I was fine. I dont understand how a very mild dosage could make me feel this way at all. When I was microgen30 I was fine, for years, now it is one of the worse pills for bringing on my pains.

which one are you taking now ???? when i was on microgen 30, i was ok then i would get really hot, pass out, then have a fit and be sick, so they now have put me on celest, and i'm fine with it. you don't have to take it same time every day(which i kept forgetting to do) as long as you take in a 12 hour time span then you are ok. &nb sp;
if you are still feeling like that after 10/11 days then go back to the doc's and get sorted. sorry not much help but it's worth a shot.

Don't know really what to say or suggest, as I don't know the whole story; being a newbie! Can only really give you a virtual hug.
What do you mean "pains"?
I suppose you've tried the mini-pill? Another technique might be to fight fire with fire........ie maybe there's a supplement you could take that would offset the side-effects - eg Omega oils, or Evening Primrose or something.
I'm popping off to Google now to see what I can find. BRB,

Which one are you taking, if its a third generation pill, they tend to be the ones that dish out the ups and downs. I'm finally back on my second generation pill (they had manufacture problems so had to go on a different one) which has made all the difference. The newer pills have an extra ingredient in them which tend to cause the mood swings. As i explained to doc, i would rather have a painful period than the mood swings. Might be worth checking on the leaflet that came with the pill as to which generation you are on

Awww darling I was the same on the contraceptive pill. I was on Celeste for many years and then Femedene or was it the other way around? Anyhow, I just put up with it or rather those closest to me did. Then the thrombosis scare came out and I was taken off the pill.
Anyway, I'm still hormonal, but without the contraception, but I'm getting there and you will too. Listen you humpty why didn't you phone me? I've pm'd you as well.

I am taking Loestrin 20 I cant find the box to check what generation, I usually throw it out so I have probably done that. I did look on line and couldnt find any information there either.
Bubble thank you for doing that for me, I wouldnt be able to take St. John's Wart as it has an effect on the pill. I do however take evening primrose oil. The pains I get are not like period pain. I suffer from low abdominal pains and have done for nearly 2 years, I also have not had a period in this time. My GP has tried a huge amount of contraceptive pills and mini-pills but they all seem to agravate the problem and make my pains worse. Last month I was diagnosed with Disfunctional Uterine Syndrome, although after researching it, it does not match any of my symptoms. But the pain killers for it seem to help me. This is the only pill in 2 years that has not had me rolled up in a little ball in complete agony, but when I take it I also take a strong painkiller.
I was taking a a pill that had 3 levels of hormone in it and that seriously gave me the high's and low's I was talking about in my original post. After researching loestrin it is said to be the lowest level pill and most of the reviews are praising it as they have no put weight on or suffered mood swings or anything taking it. Only one review in about 60 said that they had "down" feelings on the 7 day break.
I do feel a bit better today, and Im hoping it is just a one off. I really want this pill to work for me, so far the pains have been mild and I want it to be an end of all the what's if's and maybe's. Ive had enough of being prodded and poked but my mental health is paramount to my physical health. I will take it a bit longer and see how I feel, but I am registered with a GP here and with my GP in Bury as a temporary resident so where ever I can make an appointment in the week if need be xxxx

I used Bach Flower Remedies when I went through a rough patch. You can get them in most healthfood shops, and I think Boots etc may do them now too - but someone in a reputable healthfood shop should be able to advise you better than a pharmacist.
A good short term emergency blend would be Rescue Remedy, but the following links should help you. (Sorry! More links!!)

One can see why that would be a downside to taking the pill lol
Im not taking it for contraception thankfully lol Im using the safest method of contraception so I know I wont get pregnant pmsl Weight loss sounds good though.
Ive still been crying on and off all day, I dont know whether to get to the end of the month and see how I feel when I take my 7 day break or see the doctor sooner. grrr I hate nothing more than having no control over my emotions, the logical me knows there's nothing up but the tearducts seem to have other ideas xxxxx
