Hi all

Well i have my doctors appointment tomorrow to discuss my sinking feeling and depression, i've finally decided to do something about it and i think she was quite worried on the phone the other day as she's having me squeezed in tomorrow before she goes away for a week!

So what am i to expect?

Are there any questions that i should ask?

What have been your experiences with things like this?

Just be really honest with your doctor, ask for lots of help and expect that you might cry.

Good luck, let us all know how you get on.

Hi all

I went to the docs dispite my previous niggles and the temptation to cancel, my doc seems fairly ok.... she always listens and she takes what i say at face value (i'm her first ever spd case!).

Had the kids there so i couldn't talk to openly as i didn't want my 6 year old but we seemed to manage speaking in code and after doing this paper form of a scale of how often i think and feel things over the last 2 weeks she said i have moderate verging on the egde of severe depression (expecially considering my history).

She seems to think that 80% of my depression is linked to the spd and how it's affecting my life and home life. She's hoping that if she keeps an eye on me then i should be ok, (as long as we speak on a weekly basis...) i'm being reviewed offically in 5weeks which by that time i hopefully should have seen the pain specalist. If not who knows..... she's hesitant about giving me more tablets as i'm already fed up of taking them etc, she's going to look into councelling and is going to check on childcare issues etc as i expalined how i feel about putting on everyone already.

So it's a case of watch this space.... i hopefully have found somewhere to move too if i can get finances straight but it means that my son has to move away from his friends but i'm going to make a pledge that he will have someone over every other week minimum..... It's not too far away from where we are now only 4 miles and school has said i can keep kieran at the school, the only catch is that i'm tied into this property till the 8th january 08 as it's rented.... but we might beable to get the other one from december and move in before christmas leaving me a couple of weeks to make good on this home as we made holes for stair gates etc.

So everything is up in the air half full and half empty so it's a case of wait and see. who knows!

Its good that you saw your gp and that they are planning on keeping an eye on you.

I hope they manage to sort something for you so you can be treated wihtout the need for more pills.
