I'm so mad with my Human Resources department at work.

I've been having counselling sessions during my lunch break at work with consent from my manager. It's worth to note that these sessions were mandatory on condition of my contract. The thing is it takes a 40 min drive and one hour session (I don't take lunch), which amounts to under 2 hours so I asked my manager if having counselling comes under 'Medical Leave'.  She replied she didn't know.  Did she offer to find out?  Nooo, course not, so muggins here emails HR to ask. This was done on the 22nd October and took 4 chase up emails.  See, what a prompt and efficient HR department we have.

Anyway, today my manager gets summons up to HR. Having heard the convo I knew it was about me.  Not once did I get consulted about what was being said nor was I allowed to be present while they discussed me.

To make it worse when my manager returned she had a go at me because she had already given me medical leave for a dentist appointment and why was she summoned up to HR about that?!  To which I draw in breath and say actually I was simply enquiring about my counselling sessions. Admittedly, she apologised and went back to put HR right.

Gawd, the parlava of it.  Talk about miscommunication, it shows how much HR listen to the employees, eh.  Not only that but it was written down in an email and they still got it wrong!

Then after work  the counsellor phoned me on my mobile absolutely livid with HR. Apparently, they were enquiring about me but she wasn't having any of it because of patient confidentiality.  Basically, she says, my manager should know about the policies in place and if she didn't it was HER job to find out and not mine.

I'm feckin mad about the underhanded way it had been taken.

Anyway, I've been awarded my hours back and am now looking to some days of in lieu soon.
