Despite having a lovely holiday I am feeling really low. It isnt helped by the fact I have now run out of my anti d's and cant see my gp til next monday (my fault I miss calculated).

During the holiday I was snappy and down with DP for no reason. I over reacted to everything he said and made life really hard for him. I'd also start thinking about coming home and the things I have planned (getting Edward out the house more, using volenteer transport schemes to help, starting driving again, etc) and get really anxious. I get palpapatations and irratic breathing which is horrible. I now even get it when I pick up the phone. I have phone calls to make today and I have made one to the gp and thats all and that took me ages to pluck up the courage to do. I feel stupid. I have never really liked calling people or even answering the phone but now I have an attack whenever I think of using the phone.

I also just saw 2 of my neighbours with young children call into another neighbours house (also with young child) and they didnt call on me. I think they were asking her to go to the clap and sing group with them. I got really upset and started crying because I feel like people dont want to spend time with me and I feel because of that Edward is missing out. I dont have any close friends and I have noone to talk to and its becoming really difficult to even get out the house.

Sorry to go on. I'm sure I'll feel better once they get my anti d's in order.

Ok now feeling very silly. My two friends/neighbours have just been round. They were calling into sarahs to pick up something for me to drop round and they were asking about my wedding coz they want to organise a mini hen night and nicki has asked me round for coffee in the week.

All in all I was being paranoid - again!

Awww hun. I feel very isolated since I moved back to this area and dont generally 'click' with a lot of people but I am lucky to have found one really good friend and of course MM's!

I'm sure you will feel much better once you get your anti-d's again hun.

Take care xxxx

Hi Madz-glad to have you back with us.

Being a depressive myself I can totally relate to how you're feeling.  Before I got help my anxiety attacks got so bad I couldn't even go to the shops without trembling.  My paranoia was so bad I thought everyone was making judgements about me and, of course, they weren't.  As soon as I saw a doctor and a diagnosis was made I started to regain some control.  Admittedly the anti-ds are helping and I'm still on them, but I'm finding the days more bearable.

Have you got any herbal tablets at home you can take for anxiety?  Mother's Wort is good, but it depends on what dosage you're taking with the ant-ds.  I'm on 20mg and am taking herbal stress-alleviation tablets with no side effects with my doctor's advice.  My doctor has actually said I can reduce my dosage, but I don't feel ready just yet.

Can you get to a herbal remedy shop?  What about phoning NHS direct and see if they can suggest an alternative?  Sorry not much help.  Hope you feel happier soon.

Zo xxxx

Madz, I'm sorry that you feel like this.

Please please ring your doctors again now and explain what has happened with your medication running out. I'm sure that in the circumstances they will arrange for a prescription, even if its only 7 days until you can see the GP. As you'll know, its really not good to suddenly stop anti depressants, particularly as you've not been on them long.

If you ring now, even though its nearly 5pm I'm sure they'll get straight on it. Please do let us know how you get on.

oh, I'm going to echo everyone's sentiments here- please try to get
your tablets. I can fully identify with how you are feeling and what you
are saying- especially the phone thing. You are not alone with this
Madz.

Dizie I havent I'm afraid. I didnt see your message til after 6 when the surgery was shut.

The problem is the receptionists at the surgery can be a bit 'short' and I find it intimidating to phone them and explain a situation like this. I know this all stems from the anxiety and depression I am suffering from but I find it so difficult.

DP is being a gem. I was a cow all last night and I'm not sure I said one nice thing to him all night despite him trying to cheer me up. He is away tonight but text me this morning telling me he loves me.
