Think you need to change your anti d's hun.  I had to change my dosage and type of tablet a few times before we found the right ones.

See your gp hun and have a chat.

There are always people here to chat to and we now have a buddy scheme so you can talk to someone one on one about this if you dont want to do it in a large group or even just for a little extra support.

Love Trudi.  xx

Hi, welcome to the site and I'm sorry that you feel this way.

I've had a few runs of depression, most recently post natal depression following the birth of my daughter. I know exactly what you mean and just want to assure you that you are not a bad mother at all. This is a horrible illness, but it is treatable and by admitting that there is a problem and taking steps such as anti-depressants, you have made the first step to recovery.

I too used to dread waking up. I felt as if I just wanted everything to stop. I was tired, but when I did sleep I'd have nightmares and felt generally horrible. If you think your tablets are affecting your sleep, its worth talking to your GP to see if a different tablet would suit you better.

Please please do not blame yourself or feel that you are a bad mother - you really really are not. There are many other mums on here who are going through this now, or have done in the past and we're all here to help in any way we can.

If you're interested, we have a buddy scheme where Mums who have experience in areas such as post natal depression can buddy up with others to give support. If you are interested, please click HERE

Hello and welcome hun.

I think you need to change your anti'ds. I feel like this and i know alot of others do too. You are not a bad mum and you know something is wrong thats always a good start. Now you need to change your anti'ds. once you have done this you should find things are better. Don't let this carry on hun you need to stop it now.

Please do not feel you are alone as most of us have or do feel this way. I have up and down days all the time. I broke down at my mums at the weekend because i thought everyone else thought i was a bad mum. I know i'm not but i still question myself its normal.

We are here whenever you need to chat or just share your feelings.

Let us know how you get on hunni! xxx

Awww hun, please don't blame yourself or think you are a bad mum because it isn't your fault and you aren't a bad mum, xxx.

I've had depression and PND and it is the most horrible illness.

Hello and welcome to Madmums.

PND is a horrible illness and so unfair.  Depression in itself is also horrid and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is impossible.

All you can do is take each day slowly, set yourself little goals and things to look forward to.  Don't expect too much of yourself and don't set yourself impossible targets that even superman couldn't achieve.

Having a chat with your gp and getting some medication to give yourself a leg up is a good idea.  You would be surprised the amount of people that have to take medication for depression.

Keep on trying you will get there.
