2 weeks ago my waters broke, I was 29w 2d. I was admitted to hospital and given betamethasone injections and antibiotics but after 48 hrs I didn't go into labour so they sent me home. I am still draining fluid and am still on antibiotics and go to the hospital every 2-3 days for u/s, CTG monitoring and CRP bloods to be done. I'm now 31 weeks and still baking my little man but my Afi is quite low at 3.91 and my CRP is a little high so they are watching me closely.

Has anyone else had this? How did it work out? Did you deliver early? Did your bags re-seal? My bags show no sign of sealing at the moment and my midwife is aiming to get me to 34-35 weeks, but she said anything can happen because I have the rupture still. I know the chances for him are quite good even now, although he'd have to go into SCBU, but I want to try and bake him as long as I possibly can.

Hi hun. Its always worrying when you are facing a premature labour but just take one day at a time and hold him in as long as poss hehe. It is scary and he will prob end up in SBCU. Have you had a prem baby before? If not like i said it is scary to see them in the SCBU and so tiny but they are in the best place and the everything they can do now is brilliant! Have they given you the steroid injections to bring him on faster just incase you do go into labour before? I had my twin girls 8 weeks early and they was tiny. They were in hospital for 4 weeks and in SCBU for about 2 and a half weeks. They were fine they didn't need help with anything other than being fed and keeping their temp up. Anyway hope you manage to keep him in another few weeks at least and if you want to chat just pm me. xxxxxxxx

Hope your lo holds on for a few more weeks. Haven't experienced this myself, so no advice I'm afraid - just want to wish you the best of luck. Take care.

xxx

No, I haven't had a preemie before, my first was a week late, and my second was induced at 39 wks due to severe SPD.

Yes, I have had two betamethasone injections for maturing his lungs, so I'm pretty much set if things do need to get moving.

I cant help with advice about premature labour. But my waters broke (i was full term tho) and I never went into labour. I was 3 days loosing water until I made them induce me (I was fed up with being wet!) even when I gave birth to Zarah there was still loads of water, I thought Id run dry by now lol. But even though Zarah was full term and healthy I had to stay in for routine tests to make sure she wasnt infected with anything. By the way I was sent home while my waters were leaking as I was told tehre is a higher risk of infection at hospital than by being at home. Not sure if that helps!
