Hi all, just need a bit of reassurance.i think i must be about 5 weeks pregnant though not sure.yesterday i started to get a stomache ache which then went to my back,by the time i went to bed i felt really uncomfortable with my back.this morning the backache isnt too bad but still feel very uncomfortable with my stomache.is this normal in early pregnancy?i dont remember feeling like this with my other pregnancies!!im hoping its because we've all had tummy bugs this week i had it on monday. just panicking because i had a miscarraige 3 years ago and the back pain was simular to this.any advice is welcome.  nikki xx

I agree if its like what you had before i would get it checked. It could be your ligaments softening though. Its your body's way of getting ready to expand. I don't remember backache but i did have a few pains in my stomach that were like period pains.

Where abouts in your back in the pain? If it is lower back it may be your kidneys. Its nothing to worry about - its a UTI (Urine Infection) very common in early pregnancy. I had loads! See your gp - it can be confirmed with a urine test and you'll be given antibiotics.

It could also be ligament pain from your ligaments stretching as your baby starts to grow.

With your history its best to see your gp anyway to rule out anything more serious but I wouldnt worry too much - I had lots of UTIs and ligament pain in my pregnancy and my baby was fine - it was just uncomfortable for me.
