hi i am hoping that someone can help me, I havent had my period since july 6 and i have taken 2 home pregnance tests and they came back positive, then they did blood work and that came back neg. I have all the symptoms, and i am very confused.  I cant get to see a doctor right now becaue I am in jail until next month. has anyone heard of anything like this before. my periods were always very ;normal and right on time.  please if anyone can give me advice i would really appreciate it.

Hi hun

Welcome to madmums, it's a shame that you can't get access to medical care, i would have thought that would be part of the legal systems responsibility.

As for your bloods coming back clear, did they do the pg test or was it just basic blood work? Can you request a medical check.

I have not heard of this before but i have known people whom have fallen pregnant and continued to have periods. 

All you can try and do hun if you can't see medical help at the moment is try to eat right ie lots of brocolie (sp?) cabbage  etc iron and foods rich in folic acid.

I really dont know what to say. I dont understand law over there but surely your entitled to medical help while in there?
I have only ever heard of something similar with my dog as she had phantom pregnancys. Im not sure if this can happen in people.
I hope you get some help as Im not much use! Take care x

I would speak to somebody in charge there, and request for another pregnancy test to be done.
I'm pretty sure you cant be refused medical treatment, even in jail.

Thank you for all of the advice.  i am going to try and demand to see a doctor not the jail nurse because I dont think she even knows what she is doing.  My mother in law  is going to call and do what she can to get me one too because she is very worried, this is not normal and i am scared. I want the baby very bad if I am pregnant and if i am not I just want to know what is wrong with me.  I really appreciate all the advice that you have given me, it means alot to know that there are people out there that i can talk to, so thank you so much again.

aww hope you get some answers hun, it must be annoying the not knowing sounds strange to me but things like this happen for what reasons i dont know my friends is having tests done now as she hasnt had a period since august and all her pregnancy tests are comming up neg!!! - i really hope you can be tested soon and you get the results you want - takecare and let us know how you get on luv jue xx
