I really need some advice.  I was confirmed pregnant last week.  It was a suprise.  So, the unfortunate part is that the doctor is unable to scan a sac using the ultrasound.  So, I was advice to take a blood teat to check my hCg level.

The test result came out very high level of hCg and according to the doctor, he should be able to see the sac or something, but still nothing in the uterus. He ruled out ectopic pregnancy.  Has anyone gone through this experience before............

Now, I'm having very light brown spotting.

It really worries me........

How far along do you think you are? In the early stages it is very difficult to see anything from a scan, even an internal.

I had a suspected eptopic at 8,5 weeks so i know it is scary. All you can do is rest and let the doctors keep an eye on you. I'm afraid much of pregnancy, especially early on is just a waiting game.

Good luck! Let us know how you get on.

I agree until you are sure of your dates, its hard to say.  Its very difficult for a vaginal scan to detect a heartbeat or even a sac in very early stages of pg.

In the UK, the scan is normally repeated in a few days to a weeks time.  The Hcg levels double every 2-3 days until 10 weeks. So it could just be that you are really early on and the sac isnt visable yet.

Spotting in the early stages of pg are normal, lots of women experience this and continue on to have a perfectly healthy pg.

Did your doctor tell you to return in a few days time?

Easier said I know, but the best thing you can try and do is rest and not worry too much! It can be difficult to see anything in the early stages of pregnancy on a scan. Have they said they'll repeat the scan? I hope everything is ok, do you know roughly how far you think you are? Thinking of you xx

When you say your hcg levels were high did they give you actual numbers and did they recheck them after 48hrs to see if they are doubling?  Some ultrasound scans aren't very high res which can make things harder to view.  Did you have an internal or external scan?  External at early stages of pregnancy is very hard to see and internal is more accurate.

Early pregnancy can be the most frustrating of times. I've never come
across this before- but it sound to me like your in the middle of a
waiting game. They will probably keep monitoring your bloods to see if
your HCG is rising and offer you a re-scan. Things can change
dramatically in the early stages of pregnancy and even a week can
make a huge difference in what can be seen in scans. I wish you luck
and hope everything progresses well for you.

On Monday, I had my Hcg results tested again.  The level was from 11000 to 15000, it didn't double up after 3 days apart.

Still my gynae did a vagina scan, and couldnt see anything??  But immediately after that scan, there was brown staining, and on Wed. nite I had a miscarriage.  It wasn't a blood clot but it was a sac with a tiny cord attached to it.  Really strange.

Anyway, I went to see my gynae on Friday for another test result on the Hcg.  If it drop by 5ooo level and it is confirm as a miscarrige but if not it is still high, then I might need a scope.

This is really depressing.  I'm having mix emotions inside me.  I tried for 1 1/2 years but this is my end result.  My gynae did say mine is such a rare case.
