Hi all

I had a worried text of my lil sis again last night, they do tend to all be worried atm bless her. For thos that don't know she suffered a late miscarriage of her daughter Lily last March.

She's currently 34 weeks with her second pregnancy, it was placental problems which caused Lily's death and she'll be induced at 39 weeks if she doesn't have bubs before as they don't want to risk the placenta getting old this time around.

So anyway, everytime baby woke up in her tum yesterday she had the hiccups. I told her this was completely normal as baby will be drinking the fluid by now, but she's still worrying that it's a problem with the cord she has apparently read something somewhere.

Sooo I'd like to know how often your lo's had the hiccups whilst inside, I recall one of mine being more frequent with them than the other but it's quite a while ago now and has anyone ever heard of this being linked to any problems? I'm almost completely sure it's nothing for her to fret over but she's unlikely not to worry given last years tragic events.

At least she finishes work today so that'll be one less stress for her.

K

I seem to remember eds being a good hiccuper. It was such a funny feeling. I remember friends having them frequently too.

If she is worried I'm sure her midwife wont mind her calling so she can put her mind at rest.

Out of my 5, two seemed to have the hiccups all the time.  They were my last two.  I'd go a couple of days where they were regular but on other occasion they seemed to have them all ay and night.  If your sister is at all concerned, tell her to have a word with her midwife, I'm sure she'll be able to put her mind at ease.  Wishing her good luck for her forthcoming birth.

Hi hun, I know only one of mine had the hiccups that I noticed, the other 4 were very quiet in that respect. I had different problems with every one of mine, not theirs wth the first 3, I had my blood problems, in between 2 and 3 I had 2 miscarriages, and my 4th was wedged with his head engaged for 3 weeks, and the last one, mine and docs dates were different y 5 weeks, and thta ended up with the blood flow in the cord being reverse end, which meant the baby was way past it's due date (which meant that my dates were more accurate than theirs), he also had extremely dry skin for weeks afterwards which also is a sign of being overdue.  I remember my mom telling me that us three all had loads of hiccups during pg, and no problems.  As far as I know hiccups and pg problems DO NOT go hand in hand.

Awwww with both of mine they i never felt them have hic cups both sat back to back and i didn't have much sensation for some reason.... my excuse to much pain and too many meds.

I have heard it alot though and it's not been a bad sign before..... but a good sign. Get her to give her MW or hospital a bell to put her mind at rest.

Hope the end's not too far off now for her piece of mindxx
