Hi all

A belated update from last week, sorry for starting a new thread but I was the last to add to the previous thread so could not "bump"!.

I went to the docs on Thursday and 2 thinkgs:

1.  I was there primarily for the anaysis of the ECG I had on Monday that showed as abnormal.  It stated I had tachycardia (heartbeat>100 bpm) and a shortend pr interval.  The GP did not know what the shortened PR interval meant so said that she would ask a cardiologist for review and then proceed on their advice (so more waiting!).

2.  High BP and palpitations - I had kept a diary for a week or so and the GP was quite sure that these symptoms seem to be stress related or metabolic (after the palpitations I was getting extreme thirst).  The advice was to not get stressed (yearh right!) and to eat between meals!  Yippee!  I think she meant 6 small meals rather than adding to the traditional 3 larger ones - lol!LOL

Anyway, I left feeling a little better and signed off work for one more week to try to de-stress.  Thursday was ok but I found myself very tearful again, I think being off sick and at home alone most of the time is not good for me, I tend to dwell on stuff and am finding it very lonely with all friends at work (I don't have any friends near by who are mothers or pregnant - Anyone live in Leicester!?!?!).

Friday another GP from my practise phned to say the cardiologist had reviewed the ECG and although is quite sure nothing too sinister is going on they would like to arrange for a 24 hour ECG and could I also pop in for more (oh no!) blood tests to rule out any thyroid problems.  the GP who phoned me is also the GP at our practise with a specialism in sexual health and obstetrics (spelling?), she had recently recieved a portable ultrasound machine and would I like to have a look at baby when I came in for the blood tests seeing as I had been particularly stressed lately?  -   Of course I would!  Fair exchange for a little blood.  DP managed to get out of work and so we saw little 'un again (last time was at miscarriage scare 10 weeks).  I was amaszed at the detail of the heart being able to see all four chambers.  Unfortunately the screen was quite small and I was at a funny angle so DP saw more than me!  A bit worried when GP said the baby was already taking up a lot of the womb space (I really don't want a big 'un! lol).

Anyway got a call Fri PM and I am going in in a minute to be hooked up to the 24 hour ECG.

I am fed up of being poked, prodded and still not really knowing what if anything is wrong is driving me mad!  However, as you can probably tell I am feeling a little better in myself and not so down.  Since Thursday I have only had one serious sleepless night (Sat - 2 hours) caused by worry/stress (now moved away from work to house/finance and baby thoughts!).

I think I am naturally a stress head!  On a serious note does anyone know if there are any aqua natal classes in Leicester or similar?  I am not really a yoga and massage girl but love swimming.  would also like to meet other people who are preggers so that I don't feel like such a freak!  When do ante natal classes start?

Thanks all again for letting me ramble on!

I am now off to find some semi decent underwear before I have to bear all at the hospital! - could be difficult due to my expanding dimensions.....

Lots of Love Hen xxx

My ds had to wear the monitor for 24 hours when he was just turned 2, it was so funny trying to hide the wires, his results came back normal.

Hope you get some answers and advice soon, good luck.

Awww hun i had this, it's not too bad but i wonder if you worry as much as me... lol i had a freak out fit when they fitted mine as i too was pg and it said to go though radiology etc to have it fitted and i had to check that it was all safe and switched off before i deared to enter the room! lol

As for ante-natal classes etc ask your mw when you can start, also try calling your local lesuire centre and enquire, they should be able to tell you when they are on, who it's open to and if there are any restrictions.

Good luck, thinking off you xxx

Hi all

A quick up date - thyropid tests are normal, ECG went ok, typically had no palpitaiotns or breathlessness whilst being monitored but have had several episodes since! Went to GP this AM for the blood test results/ECG results.  ECG results have gone walkies, no one seems to know where the results were sent - GP/my hypertension hospital clinic so GP is chasing today.  Have been signed off again until next Thursday, which is grerat but I am so bloody bored!  Everyone is at work and I have tried doing clear out of house and other jobs but it seems to bring on the palpitations!  any ideas to pass the time?  The major boredom factor is having no human contact and this leaves me dwelling and stressing!  Tsena - I am definitely a born worrier, I have now stopped on the work front but have replaced it with house/impending parenthood stuff!  Doh!

Off to phone the leisure centres to see if there are any Aqua natal classes in this City, online check did not look promising (netmums.co.uk and Leicester city council).

Thanks for all your lovely messages, it really helps

Catch you all later

Helen xx

Awww hun thats definatly a case of sods law etc. As for loosing the results i hope they find them and don't attack you for more.

As for passing the time... i find myself addicted to this site and i try to do cross stitch and drawing/painting......either that or try writing a story.....

I still worry big time, and the other thing i do is apologise all the time too if i think i've said something out of turn etc. Try not to worry it's part and parcel of being a mum! lol so i'd say your going to be a good one... just go easy on the cotton wool etc

Hugs hun x
