On my maternity file there is a section where it asks you if you intend to breast feed and if not, Why....I actually have a problem with this as with my last baby I wanted to breast feed more than any thing and it just didn't work out (much to my utter dissapointment and which I feel was the start of my pnd)

I think breast feeding is a very personal decision and no one should have the right to ask you ...why not.

The other thing I have a problem with is when i was in with the mw last week she asked me my dates which I knew, then she asked me if my baby was planned....I just want to know what difference does it make, the beby is there now.

may-be I am just hormonal.

ACH, don't worry about it hun.

My MW I had while pregnant with num3 was so rude to me. She knew I'd had PND with num2 and then said, did I think about what I was doing before having num3 ? None of your business I told her !

BF is a very personnal choice and I desp wanted to bf with num3 but I didn't like it at all. I was nagged and nagged by the hospital MW's not give up but he is my baby and it's my boobies. Don't feel pressured hun, xx.

My MW asked me if I planned on BF. When I said no she asked me why. I felt a bit intruded, but I answered her and she said that Joshua would have probably been better off on the bottle given my reasons why I wanted to not BF. She was very supportive and never once tried to change my mind.

I was lucky as everyone was understanding with all my decisions.

At the end of the day if you want to answer then do and do them honestly. If not then tell them no and that its your decision and they should respect that.

I know if i was you i would have told her where to get off but thats just me lol. At the end of the day answer the ones you want and leave the ones you don't. There are no rules on what you should answer and it has nothing to do with them anyway. xxxx

My MW knew Eds wasnt planned already as we'd discussed the fact that I was on the pill when I feel pregnant.

As for breastfeeding, I think again I bought it up first as I was very keen to breastfeed.

I think it depends on the MW. I can understand why they ask. For example unplanned pregnancies can lead to PND so you would be higher risk if baby was unplanned. Asking about breastfeeding is practical as they will then know what advice to give and how to help after the birth. They have to advise to breastfeed but most MWs will be understanding if you say you are not.

It could well just be your hormones, but having said that I was so wound up during pg 4 & 5 because they thought they knew better when I had sex etc, that I decided no one knows me like me so I just answered their questions I wanted and said mind your own business to others! lol They may have to ask, but you do not have to answer, as for planned babies, none of mine have actually been planned, my fun was all the are you still with the same man? questions I got, and still get just because there is a 10 yr difference!
