Hi all,

Now i got a good one for ya i know someone who is about 10 weeks pg with her second baby well when she is NOT pg she has panic attacks and refuses to go out at all so her and her daughter stay in the house or a neighbours house all day .

So what i was wanting to know is she reckons that being pg cures her panic attacks and it doesnt affect her at all ever in 9 months now i would have thought with all those hormones it would make it worse not cure it ? have any of you heard of pg curing panic attacks ?

I have suffered from Anxiety and Depression for my whole adult life. I have had panic attacks and been refered to the local mental health team. I was having my medicines increased when I discovered I was pregnant - I was taken off them in 2 days (very fast for the dose I was on) and was monitored thoughout my pregnancy but I never faltered - now I'm not sure if the pregnancy cured it - I think a bit part of it was my own thinking and determination.

I have had a couple of small blips since having Eds but have never gone back to the bad days of pre pregnancy.

Hun i think alot of it has to do with the sudden realisation you have a life growning inside of you so you somehow have an increased confidence.... inner confidence even.

I have never been very positive or confident but during pg it was the only time i managed to say what i felt and fudge to the consequences.... might be worth doing or seeing someone about confindence classes to help after her babies born.
