Ok peeps, I am probably going to ring the doctor 2moro or thurs unless one of you can put my mind at rest. for about a week now I have had a sharp constant pain....eases slightly for cpl of hours here and there....on the left hand side, just below my rib cage. I have put up with it for this long thinking it is probably just where everything is stretching yet again due to baby but im not so sure now?? Has anyone had anything similiar??

I personally would get checked out just to be on the safe side Hun as everyones pregnancy is different you don't know whats right or whats not, i know during my last pregnancy i got alot more pains than i did first time round but i still got checked as i didn't know if it was right or not i think generally it is your body stretching and just getting prepared for birth etc- i felt as if i had a constant stitch!!! things were absolutely fine for me which I'm sure they will be for you too but once checked it will put your mind at ease - goodluck babe xx jue xx

It's always worth getting any pain checked out when pregnant.  I had pain underneath my ribs on my left hand side with 2 of my pregnancies it was where the muscles seperated and it wasn't very pleasant and lasted until the end of the pregnancies.  The other thing to consider is whether it could be constipation this can be under the ribs where the turns in the large bowel are, sorry to be graphic but are you having regular bowel movements?  Hope you feel better soon

I had a lot of pain under my ribcage with all of mine, im sure it had something to do with your diaphram stretching to accomodate, and having a small body frame doesnt help matters either.
If you are concerned, go to your doc or midwife anyway just to check.. but just wanted to let you know i had this quite a bit, and it was just one of those things you get, that there isnt much you can do about unfortunately!

I too have had pretty much constant rib pain since about 18 weeks.  Midwife and GP reassured me it was the stretching and movement of ribcage combined with baby taking up the room!  Best to be checked tho to be sure but it seems fairly common by everyones responses.  Sure you will be fine, it is bloody annoying tho!

Hope you've had a good night. How are you feeling today? I agree with the other ladies about it being stretching - but if at all in doubt I'd get it checked anyway, just to be sure.

xxx
