Lol I was the same at my 28 week appointment. Measuring 31. My first baby was 8lb 8 but I don't think my bump is as big this time round so I wouldn't automatically assume your baby is huge. It could just be that you have a lot of fluid etc. I'm not even allowed to have a growth scan despite having a 3rd degree tear with my first so if this lo is big I've just been told I'll have to take the chance. Nice eh?

well brandon being my 1st was 8lb 1oz but my ex partners other 2 children weighed in at 10lb 2 and 12lb 3 so wat with that and the fact that my son was induced 3 weeks early, was still large and ended up with shoulder dystocia I have to b monitored

I measured big when I carried Ella, started at about 2 weeks over and then went to 4. I had several growth scans and at about 34 weeks, was told I had polyhydramnios - which is an excessive amount of amniotic fluid. At this stage of pregnancy, it doesn't necasserily cause a problem, they just have to be aware and monitor. At 37 weeks, the sonographer estimated Ella at 9lb and when I was induced at 39 weeks (due to blood pressure problems and my size) my consultant thought she'd be 12lbs - as it turned out she was only 8lb 11.

This time, I've measured about 4 weeks over from about 24 weeks. I'm now 36 weeks and am measuring 42 weeks! I had a scan last week and the fluid levels are fine and baby is approx 6lbs - so scheduled to be about 8 and half lbs. I've got to have a c-section because of the issues that occured around Ella's delivery, but regardless of that, my consultant isn't worried about the size.

I think its all a bit odd as why would a size 8 woman have a bump measuring the same as someone who's a size 20? I'm a size 20/22 normally, a friend of mine who had a baby in December is a size 12. How could we possibly have the same fundal measurement at a certain stage of pregnancy? With the best will in the world, I've got a lot more overhang to take into account compaired to my friend!
