Hey guys

Was woken up during the night with a really sharp pain in the very bottom of my stomach. Felt like a contraction but only had the one and was quite strong. I never had Braxton Hicks with my first so not sure what they should feel like. Does anyone have any idea what it could have been. The lo was really active during the time I had the pain as well. I'm 38 + 4 weeks by the way. I've also had a really upset stomach for the past few days as well and don't know if this is related or not.

hi hunny (tmi in post)

If your worried i'd give your mw a bell.

I might be wrong but i used to have one off shooting pains in my lower tummy which turned out to be constipation even though i was able to go regularly.... I'm not sure if it's relevant or not but ho hum.

Might be worth increasing your fruit etc and seeing if it helps.... if not you can see your mw/gp and ask for a script.

On the other hand it could be bubs playing around and kicking a nerve (practicing for when s/he's on the outside.)

Hope it eases and stays at bay hun. x

How you feeling today? It could be BH they can feel like the real things sometimes, or as zany says it could be the baby pressing on a nerve, especially as you felt movement at the same time. You'll probably experience a few contraction type pains before the real ones now you're in this late stage. Make sure you eat plenty of fruits as zany said to make sure you're not constipated. If it carries on and its playing on your mind give your mw a call. xxxx
