Just back from appointment at Dr's. I didn't see my usual GP, as was a last minute appointment. I have what I think is thrush - had it a wee while ago after taking anti-bio's - and last night it flared up again. When I went to see the Dr to get treatment for it, she said that it may not be thrush but could be something else that I can't remember now lol - Strep something? Seemingly can be harmful to the baby if it's there during delivery - so I now have to go to the nurse tomorrow and have swabs taken to check what it is. I had to persuade her to give me cream in the meantime incase it is thrush - I don't fancy leaving it until next week/whenever the results come back!

Her manner was not very pleasant, to say the least. She then said "Right, I'm afraid that's all we've got time for" - before I had a chance to say anything else! She said she was fully booked for the rest of the day, and if I had a list of complaints, I had to make a double appointment! Grrrr!

Then, while I was waiting for the prescription (this is at medical centre on the base), after having a wee chat with the receptionist I know there, she came through, made herself a coffee....then went back to her room. There was not one other person waiting to be seen. I'm not impressed!

Anyway - will discuss properly the nurse in the morning - hopefully she'll be able to explain things a bit more. I think I'll avoid looking anything up on the net in the meantime tho - will end up worrying otherwise!

xxx

I too would complain about the doc i think it's disgusting.... expecially as she was only having a tea break.

Thanks for that link Nat - had no idea what it was at all. Fingers crossed it'll be bog-standard thrush! lol

Thanks for asking too, Tsena. SPD pretty painful at mo - could do without the swabs being done!! There was no-one available to do them for me while I was there today - would have been handier, as I have no transport, so will have to walk back there again tomorrow morning. Nevermind....hopefully this will give me the all clear for strep B - and then they'll give me proper treatment for the thrush to get rid of it completely before Adam decides to make his appearance!
