Hiya ladies, just wondered if anyone could relate to this and give me a reason for my pain...Last night i went to bed and had this agonising pain deep in my pelvis like pushing and it felt like a knife was being pushed up my lady bits, and today i have felt it again a few times like pushing deep in my pelvis and it also feels like something bulging out of my lady bits...its really painful but i know its not labour coz i havent had many contractions, just a few painful bh's! Any ideas?? Thanks

It could be a number of things really.  You could have a urinary tract infection which would cause deep pain and is common in pregnancy.  You could also have bulging veins in the vulva a bit like variscose veins that can happen when you are pregnant, or it could be the baby on a nerve.  The best thing to do is if it carries on and you are at all concerned about it is contact your midwife and ask her advice, she will be able to put your mind at rest and reassure you. hth

Sounds very much like baby's head engaging, however just to be on the safe side I would suggest you call your mw.  I know I'm the last one to usually suggest the mw, but they are supposed to be there to help, and she can put your mind at ease!  I've only just started getting my braxtons, but bubs has felt lo, and a few pains but nothing compared to when I had Fred, I just know to take it easy, as my mw is never available when i phone.  You could always try calling the labour ward and explain it to them, I find they are usually much better to talk to than my normal mw.

Sam I stil cant believe you are notunder consultant care for your SPD! Right - call the labour ward, exagerate if needed but I doubt you'll need to, just explain how much pain you are in with the SPD day to day and how much worse it is with these new pains. You have to be forceful but they will take you seriously.

I did this when I was pregnant and eventually got proper care and a proper plan. Have a scan through the stuff I sent you and see if there are any tips on how to deal with health proffesionals who are unhelpful. Please get the help you need hun. If nothing else they will prescriblestrong but safe painkillers to get you through the next few weeks and may consider a date for early induction.

God I wish I could drive I would come up there and sort um out for you! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

(Ed sends HUGE snuggles and slobbery kisses!)

aww thanks eddie! I find getting hold of a mw almost impossible, i havent got a car either so i cant go anywhere! This is all just my luck! Supposed to be fetching new car saturday, i dont want to have to go to hospital coz they r useless, when i had megan they kept fobbing me off sayin that my pains were "part of being pregnant"...Am seriously considering castor oil, or cod liver oil...i cant put up with this, im not able to sleep properly i cant even hold meg for long and i cant walk properly! I will shoot the person who invented stairs!!
