For all those that are experts at twins a few questions as I have been banned from surfing the net by my mw (like that has stopped me)...

What was your pregnancy like?  What tests did you under go whilst pregnant?  Were you under a consultant or a mw?  How many scans did you have?  What was your labour like, did you have a csection or natural delivery, were you given a choice?  If you worked when did you have to give up work?  Did you have any complications whilst pregnant and how were these handled?  Oh and any other advice that you can think of, thank you.

Well, my pregnancy was ok. Not the best, but definatly not the worst. The only tests I remember are the diabetes test, lots of blood tests constantly to check my iron levels amongst other things. I was under a mf until about 30 weeks when I then went under a consultant. I was having scans every 4 weeks until about week 24 when they were every other week, but that was because I got diabetes. I had a planned c-section, as they were born at 36+2 weeks (there really was no more room inside me!) I wasn't given a choice on that, but they had stopped growing at 34 weeks, so they left them a couple more weeks to given them a bit more time to develope. I did work and gave up in the July, I was due 2nd Oct but they were 4 weeks early, so 6th Sept. I couldn't carry on with work, so I thought it best to get some rest while I could! I hope I've answered everything. If there is anything else, please let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Only advice I have is not to worry and stress to much! And rest when you can

x

Right where to begin lol. I found out i was preggers at 5 and a half weeks and my sickness started straight away. I found out it was twins at 12 weeks and was told they were identical without the membrane between them. They shared the same sac and placenta. I didn't have another scan untill my 20 week one. My pregnancy was fine apart from the sickness. I was told straight away i would have to have a csection with them being id. They were worried they would try and come together or cause more complications than normal. If yours are in seperate sacs you should be given a choice on natural or csection. I had a scan from 24 weeks and every 2 weeks after to keep an eye on their growth. I had the steroid injection at 28 weeks which you will prob have as most twins come early. I had the standard tests i didn't have anything different to a single pregnancy. I had more scans with them being id. I was told they would be 6 weeks early no matter what at around 30 weeks gestation but they came at 31+6. I finished work around 20 weeks pregnant but that was because i used my holidays too. They told me i would finish around 24-26 weeks as i was standing all day and i have bad hips. Also like you i'm not very big anyway. The best advice i can give is when they come just take each day as it comes and get all the help you can. You will know this anyway with the others.

If you want to ask anymore or need advice just shout.

Oh and congrats again. xxxxxx

I spoke to my gp today as I had to get him to refer me to be booked in with the mw's stupid policy at my surgery but I did as I was told.  He did tell me I won't really be given the choice regarding a csection as I had to have a section with Ols as he was breach they won't allow me to go into labour with twins as it could burst the scar so that has answered that question already.

Morning sickness started to kick in on Saturday and has been pretty constant since more like motion sickness.

Thank you both for answering my questions. I am worried but trying not to stress as there isn't much I can do.

Morning sickness is a great sign - apparently the sign of a healthy pregnancy.

I cant offer you any advice but I'm sure you'll be well looked after and all the twin mummys on here can help.

Morning sickness is a very good sign. The more you have with twins the better they are as the hormone levels are doubled. I was under a mw and consultant. Although i hardly saw my mw i did have to see her a few times. I was going to the hospital most of the time so she thought it was pointless me seeing her as much aswell.

You will worry but the sicker you are the less i would worry lol. xxx

I was sick almost all the way through my pregnancy. xxx

No morning sickness, except when brushing my teeth-didn't put on too much weight in the end as too full to eat-normal delivery of a sort and now 2 1/2 and into everything! as an aside my hair, always straight has become curly at the ends and seems to get curlier each time i go to the hairdressers since their birth LOL
