Well we finally seem to be making tracks with my SPD.

I saw a orthopedic consultant last week who doesnt think all my symptoms match SPD so is arranging a nucular bone scan to see if there is any other problems.

Today I saw my GP and asked if the coil I had fitted could be to blame. She didnt think it was but said she could see my point as it contains hormones. When she checked he book it said side effects incuded abdomonal and pelvic pain! I am now looking into other forms of contraception and she has said she will remove my coil for me if I want.

She has increased my amytriptaline dose to 25mg but has said I may need much higher to cope with the pain levels I've got.

I start acupunture in 20th Feb.

So all in all things are moving along, I have my mum checking her bupa cover to see if I can go private as apparently her works cover covers me as well until i'm 25.

I hope this is the begining of the end.

aw Madz, glad to hear things are moving for you in the right direction!

Hopefully you will be able to find another suitable form of contraception and have the coil removed - with a bit of luck, it could be that making it worse and will ease off a bit if you do..

I hope the Acupuncture helps you - there has been a lot of great press for it lately so fingers crossed, x

Dont know what to do about contaception now. Dont know whether to leave having the coil removed incase it doesnt help. Opening my legs wide makes it much worse which i'll have to do to have the coil taken out.

Why isnt it ever simple?

i'm glad you've got developments regarding your spd.  i hope the acupuncture works for you and isn't too uncomfortable.  mum said she didn't feel any of the needles except for the ones in her face!

i'm not sure what to suggest about contraception as we're in the same boat.  i've just come off the mini pill as it was sending my periods all over the place and i'm rubbish at remembering to take it at the same time everyday.  like you, i'm open to suggestions...
