Jessie-may woke this morning and her one eye was really sticky would you reccomend me to do? i dont think its quiet turned into conjunctivitis but it will if i dont nip it in the bud, if nothing works i will take her to the docs but im willing to try anythin before doin that, thanks all xx Jue xx

Hun, the best thing to do is to keep it clean by using cooled, boiled water and cotton wool.
Make sure you use seperate pieces of cotton wool each time you wipe the eye to stop it from spreading or getting worse.
If after a couple of days, its still there.. then pop along to your clinic or gp for them to check there's no infection there!
I wouldn't use anything other than water as the eye area is so sensitive, unless prescribed by your doc.

Mum of four's advice is good.

My DD was born with a sticky eye which lasted until she was about 14 months.

Someone mentioned to me at baby clinic about using breastmilk applied to the sticky eye area but I was unable to breastfeed as I had to take medication whilst pg so I cannot say whether it work or not. Perhaps someone else may know more.

cheers both i no longer have breast milk but have been using cooled boiled water, it seems to be clearing so touch wood no need for the docs thanks both xx jue xx
