I had no idea whether to put this in babies or teenage!

I've been teaching all 3 of my older ones to change nappies, and although it's usually wet ones, I have just had a blast!  My eldest (15 yrs this month) has just changed Fred's dirty nappy!  Bless him it was so much fun to watch I had to stop reading on here just to enjoy it! lol

He used about 10 babywipes, and to be honest didn't do a very good job, but hey he's still in the practice stage! lol

I'm sorry I just had to share this, my only regeret is I didn't think to get he camcorder out! pmsl

Lucky you. Bex has no interest in her siblings at all. Between both of them, she's fed them 3 times each, made about 4 bottles and point blank refuses to change nappies.

My step daughters love doing things with the lo's but ds has other ideas some times as he is very independent, they change them if i ask and would feed them if i ask, but mostly Natasha loves bathing with them, they are really good with them, ds tries to feed Kimi but he gives her a mouth full then runs off, shouting what a good boy he is.

Mine don't exactly enjoy their responsibilty!  lol  I have just encouraged them to the best of my ability, and with having broken ribs combined with a chest infection, as well as being pregnant, I am really struggling now with Fred!  He needs carrying up to his room for his naps, so when the kids are here I have to admit I do make full use of them.  My chest infection is on the way to healing, my ribs keep getting aggravated, and there's not much I can do about the pregnancy part until lo decides it's time to come out!

I am grateful, they really do help me alot as Chris can agree.  I'm not sure how I'd cope without them!

My older girls love to feed Ollie and will change nappies, which is very funny to watch I have to agree.  Ollie does like to escape with half a nappy on...

I can sympathise with the broken ribs Vix as I had the same problem with Ols.  In fact they still feel tender if I touch them now 13mnths later.  I found reclining in a chair the best thing to releave them and a warm wheat cushion in the evenings on them.  Other than that like you say there isn't a lot you can do whilst pregnant.  I did try various pregnancy supports but they weren't very comfortable and didn't really relieve the problem at all.

bless your son for trying.  sadly,  i think we kind of expect older sisters to take charge, but not brothers.  you know, i had never changed a nappy in my life until max came along!

max's contribution to changing tom's nappy involves him pinching his nose and wafting a hand while saying 'pooey stinky' out loud! lol

It would be nice to have younger help, I have DP who shares the nappy changes when he's home... we usually double team him!  One entertaining and one changing the dirty bum!

I remember the 1st time DP changed a nappy he used half a pack of baby wipes! He cant cope anymore with how much Ed wriggles so I do 99% of nappies. My nan took Edward upstairs to change a nappy at easter while I'd popped out and was gone 20 minutes - but she did it!

The camcorder would have been a fab idea though!

PMSL! I got hubbys dd (she is 14) to change Louise's nappy when she was 6 months (now 7 months) and it was a runny 'un bless her! She also used half a pack of wipes! Mind you Louise decided halfway through she had not quite finished and this resulted in a wet fart! Sally never volunteers now hehe! Wonder why! xxx
