Joshua has the Gold Star learning books, and we were doing one of the phonics exercises today. The exercise had him looking at a set of 3 pictures and finding the one that began with the same letter sound. So, b was ball etc. It went through the alphabet and when we got to 'u' there was a picture of a lion, umberella and fish. Joshua studied hard and kept looking then he looked up and said mum, where's the u sound? I can only see a lion, brollie and a fish. I had to really hold back from bursting out laughing lol. He didn't look impressed as I explained a brollie was called an umbrella lol

Your post reminded me of that T.V programme, Catchphrase... say what you see.
Well, thats all he was doing bless his heart!
My kids call it a brollie too, they should up-date the phonics so lo's will understand it properly lololol
