I posted a few months back saying how Chloe was pretty developed for her age, big hips, chest starting etc and about her monthly moodswings.  She's only 9 but pretty mature physically and mentally.

Anyways, it looks like she may have started her periods.  She's come to me after going to the loo saying the tissue was red, we were out at the time so I couldn't do much.  I've not yet had 'the talk' with her yet so I'm going to have to do that tonight.

She's going to eat her tea then I've asked her to go to the toilet again and check if it's still the same.  I cant believe my little girl is quickly becoming a young lady.

Gosh the poor wee love.

Just a word to the already wise...if it is her menstral cycle, it may pay to mention it to her teacher.

I hope tonight goes well

I started my periods at 9. I had them for around 5 months and then they went away. I then had a migrane and pmt monthly until I was 11 and they started again.

Speak to her teacher as she may have to use the staff loos because of sanatary bins.

Good luck.

It might have been a false alarm, she said there's nothing there today so I dont know whats going on with her.  We've had the talk anyway and she asked loads of questions which was good and I think she's got a pretty good understanding of what is happening/going to happen now.  I guess only time will tell whats to come.

Good luck and well done for the talk.

They say children dont ask questions unless they are ready for the answers so that is really good.

As I said I have been in her situation and I know when periods start so young they can be very light and eratic so if you want to talk at all get in touch.

Hugs

Gosh, 9 is young.  I feel for the young girls when they get their periods as early as that.

Glad the talk went well though.
