Hi Just wondering does anyone else allow there teenagers to go out durring the week night to local clubs??.. The only reason I ask is my dd1 who is now 13 and a half.(it does make the difference). Her father has been allowing her tho go clubbing it runn by the local police the only think is its for Children 14 -17 years old!!

My dd1 has asked if she can go when she is here durring school braek..Sorry but I said NO!! as she is not 14 and what would happen if she fell over or got attacked..Their insurance would not cover her..

would anyone esle allow there lo go or am I being to hard!! Hard Work

No, I wouldn't allow either of my daughters to go.

There is a similar thing run in Glos and I never allowed Hayley to go.  She did ask once and I explained my feelings to her, fortunately she understood and her father on a rare occasion agreed.

Hayley is now 16yrs old and still hasn't been.  On a school night apart from cadets which both the girls go to twice a week and after school activities we are fairly strict on bedtime and late nights.

Both the girls go to the cinema on their own with friends on a friday and saturday night but are picked up and dropped off by either us or another parent.

My feelings are it only takes one weirdo to ruin a lot of peoples lives and where that may be paranoid and over cautious I don't want to take the risk.

if i had a dd who was old enough here it is 13 then yes i'd let her go,

ours are run from 7-30 - 9pm.

i think there good >> here in shrewsbury there is nothing for the kids to do and they just hang around in the streets, since these clubs opened for teenagers the trouble and the gangs hanging around have almost half'ed

I'd make sure that i picked her up tho and that i was there to collect her, i know the people that run this sort of thing in shrewsbury  and they do there best to look out for the teenagers saftey, i went to these as a teenager as did alot of my friends

the only problem i have is charging £4 on the door> think thats way too much for a teenager, and the drinks aint cheep >>softdrinks that is lol.

just my opinion

gem

According to her age no I wouldn't let her go

my kids wanted to go to youth club but ds2 wanted to g with the older ones, and i wouldn't let him go until he was exactly the right age!

Their insurance specifies ages and if its run by the local police it doesn't say much for that police force if they are not checking ages!

Gemma it cost £6.00 to go!! I could go out clubbing myself but dont..Dh was going to contact local police as it is clearly allowing in underage children but I have said I would rather he didnt.

I also don't allow my daughters to hang around on the streets.  There are plenty of other things for them to be doing it just takes a bit of planning and ferrying them around.

i didnt go to a nightclub until i was 15 but my parents didnt know and wouldve been angry if theyd found out

i used to go to a youth club which had a disco when i was about 11 but it was on a raf base and so security was tight

i personally would not allow my daughter to go to a nightclub aged 13 in this day n age

i must say although it would be nice having a daughter im glad ive got two boys cos although theyre a handful now i dont think i would worry about them half as much as i would my daughter-there are a lot of scary, freakish and nasty peeps out there
