My eldest has been given a chance along with others in his year to get extra tuition at school after school hours.  Now I don't usually let the kids do after school things as during the winter we have floods and snow to contend with, however, with it being for school work and help towards his GCSE's this year I decided he could.  The only thing I asked him to do was to phone me when he got on the bus in Port!  The idiot phoned me before he got the bus, as in just left the school building, and ran out of money so he couldn't phone me again.  I had no idea what time the bus was getting into the next village or whether it was going to make it all the way to this one, so I phoned my boss!  Well I decided to go to the next village to pick him up, only to find I missed the bus at the bottom of the road, but by the time I had gone and come back there was still no sign of him.  By this time I was panicking, we're not talking 5 mins late, this was half an hour late and counting.  Called dh and he said go back down to the village slowly and see if he's taken shelter in the trees in this lousy weather.  Half way down the road we met a VERY drowned rat.  My heart had been in my mouth imagining, as you do, all the nasty things that could have happened to him.  Instead of being chuffed he'd arrived safe I blasted him out over being stupid and not ringing me!  It turns out the idiot missed his stop as his glasses had fallen off, and  the bus driver had been very nice and allowed him to stay on the bus while he went up the pass, and back down again so that he didn't get too wet!  Which was very lovely of the driver, however, not good for my nerves or heart! pmsl  So I have made him do every cuppa tonight I have had, seeing as though the worry he caused me made me realise how relieved I was he was alive, and so that he knows that when he hates me cos he's doing them that he's still alive as well! lol  I know bad logic, but at the end of the day he hasn't questioned it! lol  I still haven't decided whether I want him to go on the bus again! lol

Im dreading it when Adam and this pink bump get older. When I was a teen I must've drive my mum nuts. I was always late home and uncontactable!

Same here amy, but the handy thing is, having had a worry last night, and all three of the older ones being so knackered as the babies had a rough night, they slept in.  I have 3 helpers home today and my goodness they are doing well!  I have all the washing outside the kitchen looks clean and the eldest has got rid of the spider webs that have decorated the back rooms that we don't use!  So now I can clean them(well they can) and we can start using the rooms again!

Maybe after the what happened last night, if you was to let him stay on after school again, it might make him a bit more aware of things and how easy it is to make Mum panic!!!

But then again, maybe he has been "soaked" into not wanting to stay behind himself and making endless cuppa's if it happens again

Good punishment tho,
