Oh no, when I worked at the nursery I bought one of the little angels I looked after a book when her mum was expecting her second baby. I can not remember for the life of me what it was called. I think it was about a mouse, who's mother was expecting and he thought he was being left out, its a fantastic stort and really reaches out to the young ones. I will try and rack my poor frazzled brains, but if it helps I probably bought it from The Works!

Congratulations on bump number 2 xxxxx

Oh I got a couple of great books to explain to my 2 and a half year
old son (at the time) what was going on.

One is called "There's a House inside my Mummy" by Giles Andreae
(the guy who writes the Purple Ronnie poems) and Vanessa Cabban.
Inside it explains:

"When my wife was pregnant for the second time, I was talking to
Flynn, our two-year old son, about what was going to take place and
how exciting it would be for him to have a brother or sister.

I started to think about it as though I were a young child myself and
wondered how I might understand the magic of pregnancy and birth.

"There's a house inside my mummy" was a phrase that just popped
into my head, and from then on the book was a joy to write.

Flynn became excited as we were at the prospect of his little brother
or sister- which would it be?

It wasn't long before we found out it was to be both!"

The book is brilliant- the prose is in poetry form. The best bit for me
is the explanation of birth:

"I just can't wait to meet him,
I hope that he's alright,
My Daddy said be patient
As his door is rather tight."

Usborne also do a lovely wee "first experiences" book with a story
about the New Baby.

I also got a book- I think it was called "the New Baby" - it was a
lovely board book with no words but beautiful detailed illustrations
that my son and I loved to look at and talk about.

Hope that helps! Lynie xxx

When I had Fran I bought Hayley a book called "Mummy laid an egg" which is a light hearted look at how babies are made and born.  It's very well illustrated and the girls both loved it.  It is written by Babette Cole.
