If you don't want to know, don't read on ok.
Claire develops severe PND and leaves the baby in a taxi, disappears with him while walking by a canal and tries to push his pram in front of traffic. Not sure which order all this comes in. Ashley then has her sectioned.

I had guessed they were building up to a story line like this as they have made her out to be such a perfect mother so far. I mean she left the baby in the hairdressers last week who does that with all the fumes around....

All I can say is poor baby Peacock!
He's gonna be abandonded, nearly drowned / ran over, his mum is in a nutty home and to top it all off he now has to spend all his childhood years listening to a pig being butchered.....Ashley's voice btw!!!

But why does every mum in soap develop PND that makes them intent on harming there child??? I had very bad PND and was hospitalised for a few weeks but not once did I want to harm Adam!

Because it gives good ratings and for no other reason amy. The same as why every single marriage ends in divorce or murder every single birth is out of the blue and in the back of a taxi and every death is a shock/mystery/dramatic.....
Very very very few women with PND would ever even consider harming their child in fact quite the opposite they would prefer to die than anything happen to their baby.
