I've read the book 3 times.  It's beautifully written.  Mum has the dvd but I can't make up my mind if I want to see it or not. S'pose I don't want to be disappointed really.

I read the book, and got into trouble with DH for staying up until gone 3am to finish it! (He claims he can't sleep if I have the light on, his snores would say otherwise...) I just couldn't put it down. Haven't seen the film though.

I usually find I am dissapointed with films after I read the book. I did enjoy the Lord of the Rings set though, although it still surprises me when the epic journey to the pub that takes about 6 months in the book takes about 3 minutes in the film! Let me know if this one is worth seeing.

Hello!  Just lol at this!  I've just spent a lost weekend over this book- I picked it up in Asda for 4 squid and couldn't put it down, even to look after my children, it was amazing.  Now I really want to see the film, will I be disappointed?

Hiya,

Well, I loved both the book & the film... Admittedly, the film wasn't just as good, but then it never is! I was dying for it to come out on dvd and as soon as i got it, I had a girly night in watching it... hubby actually sat in to watch it too and even he enjoyed it!!.

If you like that sort of book, then I'd also suggest Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, personally, I thought it was actually better than memoirs (and that's no mean feat) and I would love to see to see it on the big screen too.
