Is/did anybody watch this?

I saw the documentary on channel 4 previously and watching it again.

It was amazing how the Mother coped.  You cannot predict how you'd cope, as you have maternal hormones that are everywhere.

She is a beautiful little girl and the surgery was necessary.  She had 8 times her own blood in transfussions!  I can't even begin to magine the pain of coming out of the surgery, but being that young hopefully with time it would be forgotten.

What are your views of this?

The wee girl Manar was born with a parasytic twin joined to her.  It was in Egypt.  The twin was joined at the head and had a fully grown head, brain, and body with partial spine, but novital organs.  The twin head fed off Manar.

At 10 months they were separated in her home town by a cheif of Neurosurgery.  Many Neurosurgeons turned the oportunity down as the supplies in that town were bad and the place had a £300 000 budget for hospital care.surgery.  They spent over 10% on Manars surgery I think?

Ooooo that was quite weird.... The Mum just said, if you'd met Manar before surgery you wouldn't believe it was her she used to smile a lot.  Not any more...

I saw it too, i didnt realise she died, where did you see that. Too be honest she was a beautiful lovely little baby before the surgery but did seem different after it i feel really sad now knowing that she died.

I think it was a shame that the hospital didnt accept help from either America or uk as im sure she would have had better care there and that it was just a pure fiancial reasons to cope themselves then parade her on the oprah show but i guess they did the best they could. I also thought the head nurse was lovely and she really seemed to care.

I do find it really strange that the mother was sent out of hospital without seeing her child and knew nothing about her condition untill she read it in the newspaper, can you imagine if that happened in this country lawsuits would be flying everywhere and people shouting about how crucial bonding is within the first hours let alone weeks. Its just amazing how differences there are even in this day and age. i feel very lucky to be English and have what we have.

RIP little Manar xxx
